Soldier's Letter, 1 1/2 pages, 8vo., Harewood Hospital, Washington D.C., July 8/ 63. Adam Lievengood (Levengood), Co. H,  175th Pennsylvania Infantry writes to his sister:

"I take my pencil in my hand to let you know that I am sick and the doctor sent me in the hospital on Monday July 5 in Washington D.C. but I... hope to get well till my time is up that is seven days yet and follow our regiment sent on to Laurel House  17 miles from Baltimore in Maryland...Seven of us is in the hospital but not all in one barrack. I am in where six of us from our regt. but none of our company....I can't walk around to look where they are all. Adam Lievengood, Co H, 175th Regt. Pa., Harewood Hospital, Ward No. 13, Washington D.C."

Pencil, otherwise fine. Comes with the original postally used cover, postmarked Washington D.C. with three 1 cent Franklin stamps, roughly open at right.

Soldier has bad spelling.
