Soldier's Letter, 5 1/3 pages, 8vo., Head Quarters, Department of No. Carolina, Roanoke Island, Feb. 28th, 1862. Nelson S. White (Co. A, 24th Massachusetts Infantry, also in Co. F, 4th Massachusetts Infantry and 33rd US Colored Troops) writes to attorney E. Carpenter about a bounty payment dispute due to question about oath taken. The letter is signed with full ID as "N. Shepard White, Co. A, 24th Regt. Burnside's Expedition. Washington D.C.".
