Soldier's Letter, 3 pages, 8vo., Feb. the 9, 1865. Daniel M. Oliver (Co. C, 6th Indiana Cavalry, he also served in Co. C, 71st Indiana Infantry) writes to his parents.

"...I have a bad cold and a pain in my side. You said that you had a cold winter. It has been warm and nice here all winter. Last night there was a snow fell here about three inches deep and it is the worst that I have seen this winter...

I get plenty to eat here and am well taken care of. One of my company is staying with me in the hospital...so my fare is good and I am well satisfied with the place...D .M. Oliver".
