Alexander S. Asboth (1811-68), Brigadier General, USA (Hungary/NY). Pea Ridge, Marianna, FL (WIA).

Autograph Endorsement Signed (AES) as Brig. Genl. 4th Div. on a letter heading "Headquarters Fremont Hussars, Camp Halleck near Rolla Mo. Dec. 25 1861" by Geo. E. Waring, Jr. as Major Commanding Fremont Hussars. It is to Lt. Wm. S. Burns, Company C, Fremont Hussars, and it is directing him to join his Company at Rolla.

The letter was also signed and approved by the Colonel Commanding Division Albers.

George Burns later became the author of the book "Recollections of the 4th Missouri Cavalry".

Rare document from an exotic unit.  Couple of small marginal ink blotches, otherwise Very Fine.
