Autograph Letter Signed, on front and reverse of a mourning card, congratulating a friend upon his engagement. "Sep. 12th' 79,  My dear Col., I congratulate you with all my heart. Your kind note was not answered before because I have tried to find time to pay my respects to Miss Andrews, but have not as yet. I wish you both all possible happiness. You are both to be congratulated, I am sure. She is one of Bristol's most charming, and you can and will do everything to make her happy. With high  regards, I remain, dear Col., Faithfully yr. friend, A.E.Burnside".  Comes with matching mourning transmittal cover addressed by Burnside: "Col. Geo.W.Adams, 36 Whitehall St., New York". XF
