Autograph Document Signed (ADS), 1 page, 8vo., December 28th, 1864 pertaining to the 2nd Cherokee Regiment (Indian Territory).

"Personally appeared before me, a duly commissioned officer of the Confederate States Army, R. A. Morrison, a private in Co. G, 2nd Cherokee Regt., and made oath in due form of law, that One hundred dollars bill (Treasury Note) this day deposited with Capt. Isaac A. Clark, to be funded, was within the lines of the enemy, on the 1st day of last July, and was therefore, not deposited for funding previous to this date. R. A. Morrison

Sworn to and subscribed before me, this 28th day of Dec. 1864 J. B. Mayes..."

The 2nd Cherokee Mounted Rifles was organized near Fort Gibson, Cherokee Nation, in September, 1861. It served in the Department of the Indian Territory, then was assigned to D.H. Cooper's and Stand Watie's Brigade in the Trans-Mississippi Department. In September 1864, the unit fought at Cabin Creek. Later it surrendered at Doaksville with the other Indian forces.
