Fagan, James (1818-93), Maj. General, CSA (KY). Shiloh, Prarie Grove, 1864 MO Campaign. Post-war Fagan was appointed U.S. Marshal by President U.S. Grant. He served under the notorious "Hanging Judge", Isaac C. Parker from 1874-1877.

Document Signed (DS), 2pp. legal folio, Murder Warrant in the Indian Country.  Verso with Fagan's signing as U.S. Marshal from the "Office of U.S. Marshal West Dist. of Arks., Fort Smith, Dec.12th 1874"  pertaining to expenses charged being resonable and just. VF
