John C. Pemberton (1813-81), Lieutenant General CSA. Philadelphia-born general. Known for surrendering Vicksburg (1863).

Document Signed (DS), 1 page, Publication Office, War Records 1861-65, Washington, 4/5/81 from Confederate General Marcus Wright as Agent for the War Department to General Pemberton asking him to correct any of the information for publication in a Roster of the Confederate Army. The document was written by Wright then filled in by Pemberton with the necessary corrections and additions and signed by him at the bottom.

Unusual and scarce form. VF.
