Moxley G. Sorrel (1838-1901), Brigadier General, CSA (GA). Aide de Camp to General Longstreet at Fort Sumter and with him throught the Wilderness and Petersburg (WIA).

Document Signed (sleeve wrapper for documents), 1 page, appox. 4" x 8". Hd. Quart. 1st A(rmy) Corps, 8/4/64.

"...The accompanying applications for furlough are respectfully ret. to major Genl. Kershaw with the request that he will cause to be selected from them, all that are based upon recruits furnished to that effect  & fowrd. for final approval..."

Sorrel signs for Genl. (Richard H.) Anderson as A.A. Genl.
