Soldier's Letter, 4 pages, 4to., Folly Island, SC, April 6th, 1864. Part of George B. Fairhead correspondence (Co. D, 177th New York Infantry). Lengthy, good content letter to his friend. 

"...There are no inhabitants on the Island over which we tramped on the last raid. Mansions are tenantless. Negro shanties falling down..."
