Confederate Soldier's Letter, 1 page, 4to., Columbus, Georgia, Feb. 18th, 1865. Captain Alexander K. Alley (Co. L, 36th Tennessee Infantry) writes to General Benjamin J. Hill seeking a new position.
The letter comes with the original postally used cover, postmarked Columbus, Georgia, on CSA #12 stamp, with a manuscript "O.B" (Official Business) marking. Both cover and letter are very fine.
