Soldier's Letter, 3 pages, 8vo., North of James River, October 8th, 1864. Alfred Perkins Rockwell (Colonel 6th Connecticut Infantry, later Brevet Brigadier General, also served in the 1st Connecticut Light Artillery) writes pertaining to battle between 2 Divisions of Longstreet's Corps with General Kautz's Cavalry.
