"...Everything is quiet here since you left, no excitement at all, except this morning a couple of boys was shot on picket by fooling with their guns. Daily out...brought in this morning about 5 o'clock shot through his buttock and now about 1/2 hour ago Graves ...F shot by Thomas McDonald (Co. I, 81st New York Infantry) through the bowells.
Lieut.(Maurice P.) Tidd (Co. A, 81st NY Infantry) joined the regiment yesterday...W.Bredow".
