Confederate Soldier's Letter, 1 page, 4to., Dublin Station (Virginia), May 6th, 1862. Morris A. Brown (Co. B, 8th Virginia Cavalry, died 5/16/62 at Dublin, VA) writes to his wife: 

"...I am sorry to tell you our Col. has been displaced from the Command of this district. Say nothing until I write you again. We are in no danger here. The Yankees are not nearer than Princeton. My dear if I stay at this point  & await you and  be sure to come up and stay with me. The cars are coming. Good Bye...M .A. Brown".

Some ink smudging, otherewise very fine.
