Soldier's Letter, 2 pages, 8vo., "New Pittsburgh Wayne Co. Ohio" Dec. 22 (64). Sergt. David Baker (Co. D, 9th Ohio Cavalry) writes to Mrs. Boor pertaining to prison experiences:

"...We was first in Macon Prison and remained there about 2 weeks in which time I purchesed a blanket of one of the Rebels soldiers that made John (Boor) and I a good covering.

We were then moved to Lawton Prison about 40 miles of Savannah where we remained until November 20. I being sick and the sick being paroled...I was furloughed. John was left in the Rebel hands...Serg David Baker".

John G. Boor was captured in Georgia 10/2/64. Was in Macon, Millen (Camp Lawton), GA prisons plus Savannah, GA & Florence, SC prisons. He was paroled at Wilmington, NC 2/27/65 and sent to Annapolis, MD.
