Autograph Letter Signed (ALS), 1 page, 4to., Nov. 1st, 1864 to Lt. A. J. Harding an aide-de-camp  in St. Joseph, Missouri, pertaining to a jailed citizen probably on bushwhacking charges.

"...John W. Forbes Esq of Platte Co., and Mr MH Owsley desire to be heard for a few minutes in reference to the Case of HB Owsley, now in Jail from their Statements to me I am inclined to think they Can offer you Evidence that will induce you to release young Owsley on Bond & Security. You may rely upon the testimony of Mr. Forbes.
