James A. Walker (1832-1901) Brigadier General, CSA (VA). Participated in 1862 Shenandoah Valley campaign, Seven Days campaign, Sharpsburg, Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg (as commander of "Stonewall" Brigade), Virginia Overland campaign (WIA - "Mule Shoe"), Petersburg,  Ft. Stedman and Appomattox.

Autograph Letter Signed (ALS), 2 separate pages, 4to. pertaining to legal matter.

Interesting early mention of telephone use. Some aging, edge faults and two punch holes at the top (not affecting the text), otherwise fine.
